Impeachment is finally happening — well, we hope. House Speaker Nancy Pelosi called to initiate impeachment proceedings just a week ago, and though there’s very little that we can do to speed that process along — if you do have any incriminating evidence against the president, I’m sure she would love to hear from you — we can do something to show support. And that’s buy some stuff for charity.

Outside the major categories, Seattle writer/personality/provocateur Dan Savage got a nod in the Outstanding Children’s Nonfiction, Reality or Reality-Competition Program category for his MTV special “It Gets Better.”

Activist-turned-television personality Dan Savage can add Emmy nominee to his list of achievements, as his It Gets Better special has earned a nomination for Outstanding Children’s Nonfiction, Reality or Reality-Competition Program.

Dan Savage and the producing team behind the It Gets Better documentary specials on MTV and Logo will take their cameras to the campaign trail in a new partnership with the Gay & Lesbian Victory Fund, the group that supports openly LGBT candidates running for office announced Wednesday.

Openly gay writer/activist/TV personality Dan Savage has signed with the sports/entertainment agency CAA (Creative Artists Agency), according to The Hollywood Reporter. Savage is best known for co-founding the “It Gets Better” project and writing his sex-advice column “Savage Love,” which is syndicated throughout North America, Europe and Asia. CAA’s clients include Will Smith, Meryl Streep, George Clooney, Sandra Bullock, Oprah Winfrey, LeBron James and Julia Roberts.

Shannon Allen, wife of ten-time NBA All-Star and Champion Ray Allen has respectfully earned the title of “Supermom.” Just try walking a day in her shoes as she juggles five children (one with type 1 juvenile diabetes, and another one that she is still nursing), a husband with a demanding NBA schedule, being a private nutritionist to the entire clan, as well as personal nurse, nurturer, teacher and all the other hats a mother generally wears. What’s most impressive is how she manages all of this with ease and modesty. Dan Savage is a little worried. “It Gets Better,” the anti-bullying, online video campaign he and husband Terry Miller started, might be making him, in his words, “milquetoast,” or, as he put it at another point, “a kind of touchy-feely, ooey-gooey, Up-with-People guy.” He needn’t fear.

When I met Dan Savage – seeking his help as part of his MTV show on college campuses, “Savage U” – I had this extreme confusion stirring inside of me. I was TERRIFIED.
