Curtis Bowden
Curtis started his career with the Universal Studios Motion Picture Group in 1991. In his twelve years at Universal, Bowden was the architect of a systematic approach to evaluating Universal’s vast library of films and un-produced literary properties for potential new films and remakes. In 2000, Curtis was named Manager of Programming for Flix Mix, a Universal subsidiary created to leverage the studio’s archive into new revenue channels. At Flix Mix Curtis co-produced several consumer DVD releases and co-executive produced “Unseen + Untold” specials for Spike TV.
In 2003 Curtis joined Corbis, a privately-held Bill Gates company, becoming VP of its the Rights Services division in 2005. He expanded into Japan, China and Europe, oversaw diversification into the celebrity estate representation business, and negotiated a master service agreement with Hallmark to secure music licenses for its Song Card business.
A native Californian, Curtis earned his Bachelor’s degree in Political Science and minor in Visual Arts at UC San Diego. He is a Board Advisor to the Los Angeles Conservation Corps National Mentoring Alliance/Youth Build USA Program and mentors students from the Eco Academy each weekend.
