Shannon Allen

Shannon Allen is a singer, songwriter, and actress. Originally from Connecticut, Shannon formed the R&B girl group, Shades, which was signed to Motown Recording Artists. Today, she continues her passion for music by writing and producing songs for her independent record label, Superstar Music Group, which she co-owns. After leaving Shades to pursue her acting career, Shannon made guest appearances on “Sex and the City” and “Strangers with Candy”. She also performed in recurring roles on “Blues Clues” and “Century City” and was a series regular on “Sesame English”. Additionally, Shannon appeared in the Sundance Film Festival Grand Jury Award Winning film, Girlfight. She currently resides outside of Boston, Massachusetts with her husband Ray Allen of the Boston Celtics, and their four children, Tierra, Ray III, Walker, and newborn baby Wynn. On June 15, 2008, Shannon and Ray Allen’s 17- month-old son Walker was diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes while in Los Angeles for the NBA finals. Since their son’s diagnosis, both Shannon and Ray have become activists within the diabetes community. In their efforts to both find a cure as well as understand what causes this disease, Shannon has joined the international board of the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation and Ray is now on the board of trustees for the Joslin Diabetes Center in Boston.
